Gabrielle Giffords is stepping down from Congress after the State of the Union, a year after she was shot at a campaign event in Tucson. She told supporters in her YouTube announcement today, “I have more work to do on my recovery so to do what is best for Arizona, I will step down this week. I’m getting better, every day.”
